MY SOUND: A podcast universe for people fighting head and neck cancer
The aim was to design a service that motivates and empower citizens through identification and knowledge-sharing with like-minded people. Research shows that people who experienced head or neck cancer do not have a lot of contact with other people in a similar situation, and that they need people to be mirrored by and sharing knowledge with.
MY SOUND contains do’s and don’ts, everyday mythologies and stories of ‘living life with cancer’ - told by the people who have experienced it themselves. The service facilitates autonomous motivation in the user’s course of the disease, thus providing a form for access, as the user gains knowledge and knowhow by using it.
With MY SOUND, users can freely choose podcasts based on either emotions, phases or form. Each podcast is then either an advise, an exercise or an experience, which is in line with the fact that citizens want an individual insight into own process a condition.
